DEVIN THE RIPPER, born Devin Denzel Davidson, hails from Maryland, deeply rooted in a musical legacy. His father, Quentin 'Footz' Davidson, founded the renowned Go-Go band Rare Essence. Music became Devin's outlet after the tragic murders of his father in 1994 and brother in 1999. While pursuing an acting career in Los Angeles, Devin naturally transitioned into music, capturing his love for Hip-Hop. His debut song, "Lee Mack Freestyle," marked the beginning. Returning to Southeast, DC, where his father thrived musically, he crafted a sound reflecting the DMV culture. In August 2020, Devin released 'One Day It'll All Make Cents,' featuring standout singles '10 Toes Down' and 'Hustle SZN.' Known for a hard-hitting delivery and vivid storytelling, Devin is recognized as one of the DMV's most lyrically-inclined artists. Influenced by Rare Essence, Nas, Backyard Band, Nipsey Hussle, and 2Pac, Devin's music is a compelling journey through his roots and experiences.
